Brief description of Scientific interests:
Development of modeling techniques using modern tools such as fuzzy logic, neural networks and Geographic Information Systems, for the simulation and assessment of environmental systems, climate and land use change effects and the prediction and risk assessment of extreme natural phenomena or natural disasters.

2009 - 2014: Principal researcher in the EU FP7 project: "Genesis: Groundwater and Dependent Ecosystems: New Scientific and Technical Basis for Assessing Climate Change and Land-use Impacts on Groundwater Systems".
December 2009 - May 2010: Researcher in the project titled: "Hydrochemical investigation of the groundwaters in the broader Perama area (Evros prefecture)"" sponsored by the Thracean Gordmining S.A.
2006 - 2008: Participation in the research team of the program Greek General Secretariat of Research and Technology: "Integrated sludge management of the urban wastewater treatment plants and wastewater treatment with natural systems.
2006 - 2008: Researcher in the EU project INTERREG IIIB - MEDOCC: "Reseau Durable d'Amenagement des Ressources Hydrauliques HYDRANET -.
2006 - 2008: Researcher in the EU program INTERREG IIIA: "Pilot monitoring system of the transboundary Nestos basin".
2005 -2007: Participation in the research team of the program EPEAEK II - PYTHAGORAS II of Department of Geology of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, titled: "Architecture and Tertiary up to now tectonic evolution of the sedimentary basin of Xanthi - Komotini - Perama and its leration with the orogenic evolution of the Hellenides and the active tectonics (Thrace, NE Greece).
