COURSECONTENTS:

This course is about the Greek legal framework for environmental permits and involves the steps required for the Environmental Impact Assessment Study. Initially, the historical review of the legislative framework for environmental impact assessment and inspection is presented. Articles of L.4014/11 “Environmental Permitting of Projects and Operations and the Ministerial Decision No.  1958/12 (ΦΕΚ 21/Β/12) for Projects’ and Operations’ Calcification (in categories and subcategories) as well as regulatory legislation of L. 4014/11.

The Environmental Permit Process for Small Project and Activities (B class) is analyzed and representative projects are studied from all 12 groups. The Ministerial Decision 3137/191/Φ.15 about the degree of nuisance of Industrial Projects and Projects of energy production is analyzed. The environmental permitting procedure is analyzed along with the necessary studies and their contents. Finally, the procedure for the application and approval of Environmental terms of the project is analyzed.

- overall application of the environmental permitting legislation

The course aims at familiarizing the students with environmental legislation and the Environmental Permit Process. They are trained in the composition of Standard Environmental Commitments and Environmental Impact Assessment studies, while being able to know and understand the legislation concerning environmental inspectors

ASSESSMENTMETHODS:

The evaluation will be done with 3 tests:

  • In project classification.
  • Preparation of small scale Environmental Impact Assessment Studies (Class B).
  • Comprehension of environmental permitting legislation.

Correspondingly with the exams, the students are required to submit projects that are considered for the final scoring.
